About the Event

World AIDS Day, recognized annually on December 1st, is a global initiative to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, show support for those affected, and remember those who have lost their lives to the disease.

The event will feature a comprehensive educational presentation on HIV/AIDS, focusing on prevention, coping with stress, and addressing the mental effects of a positive diagnosis. The program will also include the distribution of literature and essential resources to empower individuals with knowledge about HIV/AIDS.

The Little Rock Alumnae and Central Arkansas Alumnae Chapters will collaborate with Latunja Sockwell and Courtney Hampton from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Research and Evaluation Division. Sockwell and Hampton will generously contribute literature and HIV home test kits to further support the community's health and well-being.

In addition, Ashley Young from the Hoover Treatment Center will be present to share valuable information about the programs they offer, underscoring the importance of community resources in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
